Abnormality

Abnormality is a statistical deviation from average or socially unacceptable mind-set. Behaviour is reckoned abnormal when it is proportionally exceptional or different from the behaviour of everyone in a particular society. A lot of things are normal in Nigeria because of the structure of our society. According to (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), to distinguish between insane and sane people we need to acknowledge the cultural and subculture factors which make it difficult to identify abnormal people in Nigeria society because everything seems normal to Nigerians.

Measuring the persistent and severe in deviating from norms in Nigeria society can be justified in the court of law and in accord to constitutions. Although, many things such as poverty, unemployment, political instability or economic obscurity could have negative effects on an individual ability to perform adequately in Nigeria and mainly causes exclusive or statistical Substantial deviation from expected behaviour. However, Nigeria community need to change their assumptions, values and belief and these we can only do through education, self-awareness and persistent reformation to improve or reconstruct the welfare of our treasured community.
