Motherhood stress and the coping strategies
Motherhood is a very challenging calling that required multi-tasking, which required psychological well-being to function at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioural adjustment”. Staying mentally well can be one of those challenges every mother faces, especially in this demanding generation with a lot of external influences on children.
We obviously can’t define what a good mum is, but there are so many things we mothers can engage in, so as to improve themselves on daily basis, to equip them in balancing up their roles, as well as maintaining emotional steadiness. Some of the things that can help mothers survive the challenges of motherhood and maintain emotional stability are: reading motherhood books and the bible or Quran, watching motherhood coping mechanism movies; joining motherhood clubs and attending women seminars.
Of course, the positive event can contribute to mental illness; so many mothers face mental health problems during pregnancy or after giving birth, they feel stressed or overexcited and causes sleeplessness, which sooner or later deteriorates their mental health. However, endeavour to reduce your stress by celebrating the joy of motherhood, get pleasure from your kids and make the most of all the gifts and benefits that come with being a mother, plan ahead and I try not to do too much and also create time for families and friends as well. Balance up your motherhood duty with your mental health care, slow down and relax from time to time with varieties of your favourite activities, live your life to the fullest and bring latitudes to your children comfort.
Beating the societal factors is another burdensome responsibility, especially in this social media generation that provides them with a different orientation that is absolutely incompatible with yours and your belief, make sure you teach them the whole thing yourself so that they will not be exposed to external influences. Ensure that your children recognise you as their confidant and they share everything with you and correct them in a very calm manner, sure you wouldn’t want to send them away from you like some unapproachable mothers.
