What are your motives for using social media?

What are your motives for using social media?

Are you using social media platform as a medium to transfer your aggression on people? Or as a way to bring people’s value down? Think about this for once!

Many people impact people’s life positively while some pass distressing messages through social media forum. Nevertheless, we need to focus on just one question, “am I going to be happy if I receive bad comments that I dish out to people?” At a point in life, many of us have received certain information or comments about us that saddened our heart and caused symptoms of mental illness which subsequently lead to suicidal thoughts, feelings and many ended up committing suicide. Nigerians, please we need to learn good manners of approach and try to deal with people the same way we want to be treated, especially while dealing with people with any form of disability or victims of any sort. Many people are facing a crisis and don’t need an apology for what they can’t control; nevertheless, treating them well shows the high level of your integrity and moral test. Don’t judge people when you don’t even know their story or inner feelings about their present condition.

Do you even know that the attitude of bringing people self-esteem and self-confidence down is a disability and this gives the true definition of who you truly are? More so, writing a bad comment to kill people’s emotions can never strengthen you, but will rather destroy you and your future. Think about this! Mental illness sufferers and disabled people are like a butterfly that need you and I to wings fly, please stop damaging their souls because of who they are, you obviously can’t handle half of what they are facing. You addressed people with their disability! Are you strengthen them, building their confidence or encouraging them to keep moving on with their condition? No, you’re killing them gradually? And yet you claimed not to be a murderer. You cannot imagine how many people you’ve killed with your bad comments on the social media platform, but why are you doing this? What do you intend to achieve? Change the world and stop turning it around.

The non-constructive mind can never give a positive future, let the change start from you, make a difference and stop creating difficulty in human’s life. On the other hand, from personal experience and research, there is an observation that people’s verbal and written communication is a reflection of what they are passing through in their inner room.

Stop the bully against people that are physically and mentally disabled; it is not contagious, stop avoiding them and stop terrible comments on social media.
